About Margaret Millmore

I grew up in Southern California and moved to San Francisco in the early 1990s – and what a great town it was! I developed a wonderful career (two actually, one in real estate, and later, I gave that up and became a fiction writer), made a lot of great friends and enjoyed many of the amenities the City had to offer – it was pure heaven…until it wasn’t. There were a lot of reasons that big city life soured for me, but primarily I was tired of the crowds, the traffic, the noise and having over 800,000 neighbors – in a nutshell, I wanted to live in a small town, but I also wanted big city amenities close by – I was asking for the moon and the stars and I found it on Bainbridge Island.

After living here for several months, my husband, Bryan, and I loved it, we were here to stay, but there was still so much to learn about living here and that inspired me to start this blog in 2018 – it’s all about island living in the Pacific North West and will feature local businesses, artists, events, people and much more.

A bit about my writing:
My first published works were flash fiction, and were featured on Bay Area artist, Kenney Mencher’s blog, The Welcome Home and Untitled – Luke N. Goode.

In 2011 I published my first full length novel, since then I’ve published a three book series, another novel and my current series (via Creativia Publishing) What Haunts Me (Ghost Killer Book 1), The Edge of the Cemetery (Ghost Killer Book 2), which was awarded the August 2016 Book of the Month award by Long and Short Reviews, and What Hunts Me (Ghost Killer Book 3), which incorporates an epic journey taken by my grandfather in 1915. The majority of my books are set in San Francisco where I lived—previous to island life—for over 26 years.

My preferred writing genre is supernatural fiction, with the exception of my time-travel novel, The Dragonfly Door.
