3rd Annual BARN Bazaar – Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network, Saturday, November 23, 2019 10am – 3pm
The BARN Bazaar is a new Bainbridge Island holiday tradition featuring a wide variety of art, crafts, jewelry, wood and basketry, as well as artisan foods, all made by hand.
The Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network is a non-profit community-built organization, where local artisans and craftsmen practice and teach their respective crafts in a hands-on environment.
Throughout the year, these artists and craftsmen teach, learn, and create—the end result is a collection of beautiful fine-art and practical works, that until recently, were
mostly unavailable to the general public. Thus, the BARN Bazaar, now in its third year, offers these works of art and culinary magic for purchase. Items to be offered include jewelry, turned wooden bowls, glass art, artisan foods, silk-screened clothing and bags, art prints, wood-handled kitchen utensils, furniture, and much more.
In addition to purchasing fine local creations, visitors are given the opportunity to explore each individual studio and the facility at large—giving you an idea of what happens all year long at BARN, and an idea of what you too can create at BARN (to see a list of classes, click here).
More than 50 contributors and vendors, consisting of both instructors and students, will be presenting their creations for purchase, and all proceeds go direct to the artist.
The Fiber Arts Studio will be holding a “neck-wear raffle” benefiting BARN, which will feature a variety of gorgeous hand-crafted pieces—stop by, choose your favorite item and drop your raffle ticket in to win.
Carla Mackey, Membership Coordinator at BARN, and a member of the Writer’s Studio will offer copies of her recent self-published book, Via Francigena: Pilgrimage from Lucca to Rome (Pilgrimages of Europe)
The BARN facility consists of multiple studios (Electronic & Technical Arts, Fiber Arts, Glass Arts, Jewelry & Fine Metals, Kitchen Arts, Media Arts & BCB, Metal Fabrication, Printmaking & Book Arts, Woodworking, and Writers), where classes are taught, and space and equipment are available for artists of all genres and ages to bring their concepts to life.
BARN is located at 8890 Three Tree Lane NE, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110
Additional parking will be available at the Christmas Tree lot next door and Bainbridge First Baptist Church, which is a short 0.2 miles/4 minute walk (shuttle service will also available be from the church to BARN, provided by Sweet Deal Mobile).
