Hot Club Swing Concert: Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” with Jonathan Doyle

Ranger Sciacca on violin

Bainbridge’s own Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” will be performing with Jonathan Doyle on Friday May 29th from 7-9 p.m. at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.

Doyle has performed all around the world, including at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Preservation Hall in New Orleans and on Austin City Limits. He’s toured with Willie Nelson, Tuba Skinny, and Asleep at the Wheel.

“He’s a world-class player with great ideas and an incredible sense of swing –we’re excited to bring him to the island,” says Mike Sciacca of the Re-Arrangers. Tickets are pay -what -you -can at: RangerSwings.com/calendar. This event is presented solely by Ranger and the “Re -Arrangers”. BIMA is located at 550 Winslow Way E.

“Gypsy Jazz” specialists Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” evoke the spirit of a Paris cafe and the raucous energy of a Romani campsite with their version of Hot Club Swing. At the heart of their sound is Ranger Sciacca’s sweet violin playing–his sense of melody and daring improvisations. Their repertoire includes vocal swing standards, traditional European melodies, the music of Django Reinhardt, and unique originals.

Past Performances have included: Seattle Art Museum, Edmonds Concerts in the Park, Triple Door Mainstage, NW Dance Network, Best of the Northwest Arts Festival, Djangofest Northwest, Pender Harbour Jazz Festival, Bainbridge Performing Arts, and Ethnic Fest Tacoma.
