Meet Bainbridge Library April Artist of the Month Rob Wagoner at First Friday
One of Wagoner’s abstract photos
April showers have already brought some spring flowers, and the month is now offering lovely and creative photography. The library’s April artist, Rob Wagoner presents “Abstract Photo Images”, opening the exhibit for First Friday Art Walk April 3, 5-7PM in the library meeting room
“My efforts in creating ABSTRACT photo images have evolved from shooting images of wrecked autos in a junkyard almost two decades ago, to my current work. Now, I’m simply trying to look at many things in our world from a unique and often new viewpoint. The images in this show are some of my most current work.”
“Ten of the photos are created by combining 5-7 of my images in overlays at different opacities to create complex compositions. Some of these compositions simply represent abstract works tied together in their form, color & lamp; geometry. Several of them tell a story through the layering and interconnection of related images.
“Also in the show are images of common objects in our environment that I have looked at from unique perspectives and have interpreted their form in a different way. Use of color, cropping, editing manipulation and focusing on smaller parts of the subject create these unusual compositions. I hope you enjoy my work in this exhibit.”
You can visit this exhibit through the month of April during regular library hours (unless a meeting happening). A portion of sales is donated to the library. “As always, thank you for supporting local artists and your Bainbridge Public Library, said library art coordinator Linda Meier.
Bainbridge Arts & Crafts Tossed and Found Exhibit Kicks Off Tonight – April 3
Tossed & Found honors Earth Month 2026 in an exhibition of work by eleven artists and special guests from ReFashion Bainbridge who turn discarded, repurposed, and recycled materials into works of art.
Their artistic alchemy follows in the path of earlier artists mining this rich vein of imagination, like Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Joseph Cornell, and Robert Rauchenberg who incorporated found objects and unconventional materials into their work, expanding the definition of what could be art, how it could be made, and with what materials. In Tossed & Found expect the unexpected, humor, playfulness, pointed commentary, and technical mastery in work that reimagines our everyday world in new and unique ways.
Featuring work by Joanne Bohannon, David Dickhut, Lynn Di Nino, Denise Harris, Linda Jarvis, Mary Jeanne Linford, Margie McDonald, Steve Parmelee, Kathy Ross, Loran Scruggs, Tyler Andersen, and guest artists from ReFashion Bainbridge.
Opening reception at First Friday, April 3, 6–8pm. Runs through April 27
