Bainbridge Moms Launch ‘Celebrations at Studio Margo,’ a Boutique Planning and Event Design Firm; Frog Rock Could Become State Historic Site
Erickson Event Design, together with Fiona Margo Photography, recently launched Celebrations at Studio Margo, a new boutique celebration experience for intimate gatherings on Bainbridge Island.
“As local moms and small business owners,” said Loren Erickson, “Fiona and I realized there wasn’t really an intimate indoor space on the island where people could host a beautifully designed celebration without either entertaining at home or coordinating all of the details themselves. Having grown up on Bainbridge, creating something new for the community also feels especially meaningful to me.”

“So, we brought our two businesses together to create an all-in-one celebration experience that combines Fiona’s beautiful Studio Margo with the planning, styling and coordination of Erickson Event Design,” Erickson added. “From milestone birthdays and baby or bridal showers to private dinners, anniversaries and other meaningful gatherings, the idea is to make hosting something beautiful feel much easier.”
The project is also rooted in supporting our local creative community, Erickson further explained. “We introduced Celebrations at Studio Margo with the help of several local, women-owned businesses, including Flowergirl Bainbridge, Wild Roots Culinary Healing, Little Bubble Company, OMO Bakery, The Cookie Ferry, Batch & Boards and Lost Barn Rentals.”
Erickson said every celebration combines “a beautiful boutique venue with professional planning, thoughtful styling and seamless coordination—so you can spend less time managing details and more time enjoying your guests.”
The owner of Erickson Event Design calls herself “a detail-obsessed, theme-loving, ‘don’t worry, I’ve got this’ person. “I’ve always believed that the best events feel effortless. Not because they were easy to create, but because someone cared enough to think through every detail — the flow, the feeling, the way guests are welcomed, and the way you get to be fully present.”
“For years, I was the friend who volunteered to plan the shower, style the birthday, or transform a school auction into a full production. Eventually, I realized this wasn’t just something I was good at — it was something I loved,” Erickson explained. “I launched Erickson Event Design to bring that same joyful, elevated, highly organized energy to more individuals, families, and small businesses throughout Bainbridge Island and the greater Kitsap community.”

Frog Rock to Get Airing as a Potential Historic Preservation Site
Denise Stoughton, a stanch supporter and advocate for Bainbridge Island’s funky Frog Rock recently received an official letter from the Washington State Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation inviting her to a September 15 meeting of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. At that meeting, Frog Rock’s potential nomination to the Washington Heritage Register will be considered!
“The meeting is open to the public, and Michael Houser at DAHP has encouraged me to share the invitation — ‘the more the merrier,’” Stoughton said. “I’d love (for members of the public) to join us if they are available.”

“There’s still a vote ahead, of course, so I’m trying not to count my frogs before they hatch,” Stoughton added. “But I’m thrilled that the nomination has made it to this stage.”
