Big Week Ahead on the Island: Rotary Auction Underway, 3rd of July Street Dance, Grand Old Fourth of July!

The next coming week maybe the busiest time of year on Bainbridge Island. The 64th Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale – the annual event organized and run by the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island, with help from more than 2,000 community volunteers, gets underway. Smack dab in the middle of next week are two signature events: the July 3rd Street Dance, followed by the Grand Old Fourth of July.

Every summer the Rotary Club takes over the campus of Woodward Middle School (map) where it sets up classrooms and tents, accepts drive through donations for several days, then sorts, cleans, tests, prices, and displays those donations. All this work culminates in one day sale – this year Saturday July 6. In 2023 the Rotary earned over $800,000, the net proceeds of which will go back into the community in the form of grants and scholarships.
