New Rooftop Telescope Installation at Battle Point Park This Saturday – June 21st.

After two years of rebuilding the observatory dome and shutter, and the installation of a new rooftop telescope, the Battle Point Astronomical Association  is excited to announce a community open house on Saturday June 21st from 10:00 am to 4:00 p.m.

Formerly known as the Ritchie Observatory, this long-time astronomy hub will now be known as the Battle Point Observatory, a name that honors its location within Battle Point Park and strengthens its connection to the surrounding community, say BPAA members.

“This is more than just a name change—it’s a new chapter,” notes Frank Petrie, President of the Battle Point Astronomical Association. “With our newly updated observatory and new rooftop telescope, we’re expanding our ability to engage the community with the wonders of the universe. We look forward to welcoming both longtime visitors and those discovering us for the first time.”

For more information about the Observatory visit www.bpastro.org.

A perfect soundtrack to kick off the summer solstice.
