“Sylvie Loved to Sing”, Joanie Klorer

As we continue to enjoy the warmth of summer, join West Sound Abstract Artists as they present their Summer Group Show with an opening reception for First Friday Art Walk, Friday, August 2,  5-7 p,m. in the Bainbridge Public Library meeting room.

Here is a description of the group and their members: “West Sound Abstract Artists began meeting over eight years ago. We are a group of seven women who are all committed to furthering our skill as abstract artists. We work in a variety of mediums: acrylics, mixed media, and collage. Some of us derive inspiration from the natural world, others from our experiences or memories.
“Our styles are diverse and evolving. During monthly meetings we each bring pieces we are working on to discuss strengths and problem areas and explore ways to improve upon our vision of what the piece is intended to convey. We provide each other with support, encouragement and constructive critique. Additionally, we have inspired each other to expand, explore and experiment with many different techniques and mediums.
“We enjoy the process of helping and challenging each other to express ourselves artistically and grow as artists. This group show celebrates our diverse visual language as we express ideas, emotions, and observations through different artistic mediums.
