Bainbridge Island City Manager (bainbridgewa.gov) Blair King will be the keynote speaker Friday May 13 at the regular Bainbridge Business Connection (BBC) group meeting. The BBC is a loosely-knit amalgam of entrepreneurs and small business people who meet Friday mornings in the conference room at OfficeXpats, located on the second floor of The Pavilion in Downtown Winslow.
The free programs run from 8 a.m.-9 a.m., with doors typically opening at 7:30 a.m. for visiting, networking, and a coffee/tea service. The public is invited. The organization, which is nearly a decade old, has been meeting over Zoom the past two years, but just recently began meeting in person. “We’re really excited to be meeting once again face to face,” says Dave Kragen, who manages the BBC. “And, we’re truly honored to have Blair King speak to our group.”
King, who was appointed City Manager in May 2021 (back in the thick of the pandemic), will discuss his role as City Manager and will touch on doing business on Bainbridge and the business and economic trends he sees happening on the island and throughout Kitsap County.
Prior to serving the City of Bainbridge Island, King served as city manager for a variety of small to medium-sized cities, including coastal and island communities. King is a member of the International City/County Managers Association (ICMA) and the International Network of Asian Public Administrators (I-NAPA), and holds a Master of Public Administration degree.
