April Art at the Bainbridge Library Features Natural Environment Artist David Repyak

It’s starting to feel like spring at last, with sunnier days, flowers blooming and trees budding, to say nothing of birds chirping. The Bainbridge Library’s April artist, David Repyak, will be in the spring of things with his exhibit titled “Our Natural Environment” hosting an opening reception for First Friday Art Walk, April 4, 5-7 p.m. in the library meeting room.
Repyak’s personal goal as an artist is to lift the human spirit, says Library Art Coodinator Linda Meir, and inspire feelings of awe and wonder at the beauty of our natural environment. “His work is rooted firmly in nature, and actively leans into the abstract,” she explains. “With an intense dose of positive energy, motion and emotion, Repyak’s oil and watercolor paintings capture a profound sense of color, light, and the essence of the moment.”
Repyak is an artist educator with SHINEArtAcademy.com. His goal, he says, is to design and execute a positive, educational and creative experience for students and the local community. He believes with more attention placed on process than on product, student artwork will lift the soul and inspire an understanding of life.
He integrates art into core academic curriculum to strengthen learning across multiple disciplines, to build students’ self-esteem, and offers a constructive means of visual expression., Meir further explains. Repyak holds a K-8 Certification from Washington State University, a Montessori Elementary Credential, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He teaches plein air painting, after school art enrichment, and guides homeschooled students. SHINEArtAcademy grows Creativity, Confidence, and Community.
You can view Repyak’s exhibit through the month of April during regular library hours (unless a meeting happening). A portion of sales is donated to the library.
As always, “thank you for supporting local artists and your Bainbridge Public Library,” Meier says.
