Enjoy Two Holiday Concerts This Coming Weekend Featuring Ranger and the Re-Arrangers on Bainbridge and Kingston, plus Messiah Sing-along with Bainbridge Chorale

Bainbridge’s favorite Django/Gypsy Jazz Band, Ranger and the Re-Arrangers are playing two Jazzy Holiday Concerts the weekend of Dec. 27 and 28th — on Bainbridge Island and in Kingston.

The band’s Saturday Dec. 27 date will be held from 7 p.m. — 9 p.m. at the Bainbridge Cinemas, 403 Madison Ave N Bainbridge Island in The Pavilion shopping center.

“We’re teaming up with Bainbridge Pavilion Concerts and Bainbridge Cinemas,” says the band’s leader Mike Sciacca. “We’ll be in spacious Theater #3–BPA held shows there while their new building was under construction, and it’s all set up for live performances. Ticketing will be handled by the Cinemas’ Box Office, and their concessions will be available for purchase.”

ADVERTISEMENTS:

“Over the years, we’ve developed a small repertoire of jazzy holiday tunes,” continues Sciacca, whose son Ranger is the band’s energetic violinist and vocalist. “We really enjoy playing them, and there’s only a short season when we get to break them out! For this show we’ll play a mix of our regular repertoire and those “Re-Arranged” holiday classics. To give an example–one audience favorite is our minor-key, tango version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

General Admission – $20

VIP Holiday Soirée Pass – $50

Premium concert seating is available, Sciacca adds, plus access to the festive party suite on the second floor. “Savor hors d’oeuvres, sip seasonal beverages, mingle with fellow guests, and hang with the band after the show,” he says. The suite will be open 45 minutes before showtime, during intermission, and after the concert.

Tickets are also available in person at the Bainbridge Cinemas box office.

The very next night, Ranger and the Re-Arrangers will play in nearby Kingston in the Cellar Cat Jazz Club. Cellar Cat features a carefully curated wine list, and also offers small plates of cheese, charcuterie, chocolate, etc. It’s very intimate and cozily decorated, like a concert in your living room. “The musicians are close enough to touch them from the front row–please DON’T touch, but you’ll get a great perspective on every note we play,” notes Sciacca,
