Fast and Furious Line-up of BPA productions: Plays, Poetry, Comedy and Music!
We know from Shakespeare that “The Play’s the Thing.” Our own Bainbridge Performing Arts is definitely hip to the Bard and that’s one reason why they are producing a wide range of varying performances in the next several weeks or so at either their temporary home in Theater No. 3 in the Bainbridge Cinemas complex, or at Bainbridge High School.
BPA is offering a mix of plays, poetry from former national Poet Laureate, Billy Collins, the Edge Improv (Comedy) Troupe, to the Bainbridge Sympathy Orchestra. Check out the goings-on below and mark your calendars:
Kate Hamill’s “Pride & Prejudice”
April 21st – 30th
Directed by Zandi Carlson
Experience a fresh and vibrant take on Jane Austen’s classic novel with Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Follow the Bennet sisters as they navigate societal expectations, misunderstandings, and unexpected relationships in Regency England (with a few modern twists). This production celebrates theatricality and absurdity, and features fast-paced and energetic staging that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Witness actors seamlessly switch between multiple characters, sometimes delivering different character’s lines back-to-back! Whether you’re a longtime fan of the novel or discovering Pride and Prejudice for the first time, you won’t want to miss the wit and resilience of Elizabeth Bennet, the brooding charm of Mr. Darcy, and the hilarious antics of Mrs. Bennet, Mr. Collins, Lydia, Mary, and more, brought to life in this heartwarming and hilarious production.
