First Friday Art Walk – August 5, 2022
Winslow Way and surrounding area, Downtown Bainbridge Island First Friday of every month, 6-8 PM
Spend an evening experiencing all that downtown Bainbridge has to offer. Many galleries, shops and businesses will be participating this month showcasing the art of our talented creative community. Afterwards, stop by one of our many restaurants for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, or dinner.
Enjoy an evening with a stroll through downtown visiting your favorite businesses and restaurants, shopping for gifts or items for yourself and your home. The walk begins on Winslow Way (near the ferry terminal) from 6pm to 8pm, see below for a taste of what some of our local businesses are doing:
Jeffrey Moose Gallery is proud to announce their annual
exhibition of paintings by indigenous artists from Yuendumu in Australia’s Central Desert. Receptions will be held on First Friday, August 5th and First Friday, September 2nd from 6 to 8 PM. Jeffrey Moose will deliver a short talk at the September event. A Facebook livestream will run from 5:20-5:40 on both dates for those unable to attend. The gallery is located at 181 Winslow Way East, Suite F.
Island Life Artisan Gifts is excited to celebrate their First Anniversary Art Walk! Celebrate with them during the August Art Walk with fun treats and beverages, and enter to win some of their awesome Bainbridge Island goods. Enjoy live music by Travelin’ Miles & Honey Bear on the stage at The Ravine (right behind the shop), and check out some great art pieces that will make you feel like summer all year long. Island Life is located at 424 Winslow Way East.
Bergh Images Fine Art Photography –Fourth of July may be ancient history, but indolent spud and dessert lovers will love August with National Lazy Day (Aug. 10), National Potato Day (Aug. 19), and National Banana Split Day (Aug. 25) coming up soon. To celebrate,
Bergh Images will have a month-long sale commencing at the upcoming Art Walk on August 5th. All custom-matted prints are 20% off, while any single metal, acrylic, or canvas print is 10% off. Wine, small bites, and live music (courtesy of their neighbor Furnish Bainbridge) will be provided, along with the usual drawing for two complimentary 18×24 matted prints ($120 value). The gallery will also be featuring prints of the stunning “Sea Stack” images highlighted in owner/photographer Andy Bergh’s upcoming monthly article (“Island Images”) in Currents, the amazing website of Arts & Humanities Bainbridge (https://www.bainbridgecurrents.com/).The gallery is located at 400 Winslow Way E, Suite 115.
Bainbridge Arts & Crafts (BAC) will be featuring the Hilltop Artists Exhibition, which opens on Friday August 5th. The exhibition also ties in
with an exhibition at the Tacoma Art Museum called “Gather” which focuses on artists connected with Hilltop (their show is open until Sept 4th, for more information, click here).
Celebrating the Tacoma program that connects diverse youth to better futures by teaching glass skills, resilience, and teamwork. Featuring: Douglas Burgess, Daria Hembree, Jessica Hogan, David Rios, Luis Sanchez, Samantha Scalise, Tony Sorgenfrei, and Sasha Tepper-Stewart. The exhibit runs from August 5-28, 2022.
