First Friday Art Walk – November 4, 2022

Spend an evening experiencing all that downtown Bainbridge has to offer. Many galleries, shops and businesses will be participating this month showcasing the art of our talented creative community. Afterwards, stop by one of our many restaurants for cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, or dinner.

Enjoy an evening with a stroll through downtown visiting your favorite businesses and restaurants, shopping for gifts or items for yourself and your home. The walk begins on Winslow Way (near the ferry terminal) from 6PM to 8PM, see below for a taste of what some of our local businesses are doing:

A reception will be held on First Friday, November 4th, from 6 to 8PM. The gallery is located at 181 Winslow Way East, Suite F.

Bergh Images Fine Art Photography – With Thanksgiving right around the corner, much to be thankful for this month besides the upcoming First Friday Art Walk (Nov. 4).  Not sure why, but National Sardines Day coincides with Turkey Day (Nov. 24) – but maybe that helps explain why Fall Reflections by Andrew Bergh November 2022National Absurdity Day (Nov. 20) is just four days earlier?  In any event, to help celebrate these glorious occasions, Bergh Images will have a month-long sale on custom-matted prints (20% off); custom-framed B&W prints (15% off); and any single metal, acrylic, or canvas print (10% off).  Wine, small bites, and live music (courtesy of their neighbor Furnish Bainbridge) will be provided, along with the usual drawing for two complimentary 18×24 matted prints ($120 value).  The special focus this month is “Fall Colors,” as owner/photographer Andy Bergh will be highlighting some of his stunning autumnal images.  The gallery is located at 400 Winslow Way E, Suite 115.

Lake+City by Scott Allen BAC November 2022Bainbridge Arts & Crafts (BAC) – will be hosting Art and Service – Artworks by and about the Veteran experience, featuring: Geoffrey Geoffrey Bowton_ Ammo_can_glovessm BAC November 2022Bowton (glass), Jim Anderson (wood), and Ron Stewart (photography). They will also be displaying the works of painter, Scott Allen. Both exhibitions are on view from November 4th-27th. First Friday Opening reception is Friday from 6 to 8PM. This month they are celebrating Picasso’s Blue Period and making art with only blue materials. All kids and kids at heart are invited to come create art and play. Ginny Ruffner (Seattle) takes us on her unique journey of artmaking, spanning over forty years. Best known for lampworked and painted glass sculptures, Ruffner’s prolific career includes paintings, installations, public art projects, metal and glass sculptures, cast glass, and works activated through augmented reality. This retrospective debuts Project Aurora, a two-story light show inspired by the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), and the Unperiodic Table, a tapestry enhanced through holographic images. A companion book to the Ruffner retrospective is available now in the BIMA Store in person or online. The exhibit runs through February 15, 2023.

Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty – Presents Origin Stories – Donna Cohen Solo Show. “Plunge headlong into my Origin Stories, with inspiration from a variety of broad-minded cultures and visually-narrative mythologies and awesome science that relentlessly discovers things it does not understand and imagines things it cannot discover.” They are located at 240 Winslow Way E.
