Once a month, Bainbridge Island Downtown Association and the City of Bainbridge Island present the First Friday Art Walk.
Spend an evening experiencing all that downtown Bainbridge has to offer, enjoy visiting participating galleries and businesses, have a glass of wine or other refreshments at various venues, and whet your appetite with small plates offered by participating restaurants. The walk begins on Winslow Way (near the ferry terminal) from 6pm to 8pm.
This month’s featured business is Realogics Sotheby’s showcasing the work of Andrew Bergh Fine Art Photography.
Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty is a full-service boutique real estate office located in the heart of Downtown Bainbridge Island, representing distinctive homes on Bainbridge Island, and the surrounding Kitsap communities. They have proudly participated in the First Friday Art Walk event for many years, and are honored to showcase the works of our talented artistic community. This month they are presenting the photography of Andrew Bergh.
Long-time islander, Andrew “Andy” Bergh, spent over thirty years practicing law before he decided to pursue a new passion—digital photography. Using image conversion and image processing tools in his digital
studio, he re-invents his photographs to reveal the vision he personally experienced while taking them. One of Andy’s preferred techniques, high dynamic range imaging, allows him to merge multiple images of the same subject matter taken at different exposures, creating detailed images with an almost painting-like quality, giving them a
unique and redolent appearance. Andy’s images vary between black and white photographs that have a hauntingly beautiful quality, to colorful landscapes and panoramas—many of his photographs are taken abroad and reflect the historical beauty of the world we live in.
Last fall, Andy opened his gallery where he offers an amazing assortment of matted prints, in both color and black and white. You can visit the gallery at 400 Winslow Way E, Suite 115, Bainbridge Island (across from the Streamliner Diner). A perfectionist, Andy uses only archival-quality materials for his matted prints, which he himself produces after selecting the photographic paper best suited for the given image. His showroom also features an impressive collection of metal, canvas, and fine art acrylic prints, as well as custom-framed black and white prints. For more information on these formats, please visit the “What To Order” page on his website.
If you are unable to stop by Andy’s gallery in Downtown Bainbridge Island, visit his website, at https://berghimages.com/. Andy also has an entertaining blog where he shares his eclectic thoughts and images.
