Explore the works of First Friday and December Artists Martha Rogers and Meg Bishop at the Library

Celebrate the Holiday season and the re-opening of the Bainbridge Library with December artists Martha Rogers and Meg Bishop hosting their First Friday reception, December 5, 5-7 p.m. in the library meeting room.   Special offerings of holiday cards and gift boxes by our (delayed) November artist, Millard Davidson…available on First Friday only!!
The title of the December library show is Hidden Treasures, said Library Art Coordinator Linda Meier. “For the past few years, Martha Rogers has been exploring Bainbridge Island on foot with her husband Kevin and their newest family member Koko, a four-legged enthusiast for long walks,” Meier recounts. “Over time, Martha has discovered a large number of unique outdoor “yard art” in different nooks and crannies around the island. She wanted to share these wonders with others, so she painted watercolor illustrations of a dozen of them and (then) teamed up with Bainbridge Island poet Meg Bishop, who wrote a whimsical poem to go with each one of them.”
“Their hope,” added Meier, “is to inspire others to keep their eyes open for all these hidden treasures around the island.”
You can view this exhibit through the month of December during regular library hours (unless a program scheduled).  A portion of sales is donated to the library, Meier said. “As always, thank you for supporting local artists and your Bainbridge Public Library.”
