Free Summer Reading for Children at Bainbridge Island Senior/Community Center
What’s not to like about a child, a senior, and a book? It’s the perfect combination, right?
Reading is the foundation block of all learning and practicing early and often is extremely important in our ever-changing world. That’s one reason the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island is partnering with the Bainbridge Island Senior/Community Center this summer to offer a free Summer Reading Program for kids between the ages of 4 and 7-years old.
The intergenerational program pairs a child with an older adult for a time with books. The on-going event is held every Monday afternoon through August 30, from 2:00-3:00pm at the Senior/Community Center located at 370 Brien Drive.
Participants must comply with the Senior Center Covid-19 protection policies, and currently unvaccinated children must wear masks. No appointment needed, but an RSVP would help them plan. Please email Cindy McGregor at: cindybibooks@gmail.com or call the Senior Center at 206-842-1616 to register a child.
