Islandwood’s Impact in Action Awards: Inspiring the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards. Nominate Someone! Local Comedian Dan Rosenberg Brings His Act to BPA Tonight!

The Island Wanderer | Posted on January 16, 2026 |

There’s just over a week left to submit nominations for a student and educator for islandwood’s Impact in Action Awards.

The award recognizes students and educators who’ve been inspired by their experience with IslandWood programs and, as a result, took action to steward their environment and/or communities.

Anyone can submit a nomination—teachers, school staff, parents, community partners, and students included. And yes, you can absolutely put your own name forward!

One student and one educator will each receive $1,000 and be celebrated at the organization’s annual fundraiser, Dinner in the Woods – May 2026—with a spotlight on Islandwood’s website and social media, too.
If someone comes to mind, now’s the time—the nomination deadline is just over a week away.
