Something Big is Coming: Kitsap Regional Library, including our Bainbridge Branch, is Kicking off a Year’s Long 80th Anniversary

In 1944, Kitsap County residents made history by voting to create a county-wide public library system, sparking a legacy of learning and community. On January 1, 1945, the Kitsap Rural Library District began operations, later expanding to serve more of the region and adopting the name “Kitsap Regional Library” to recognize its vital role to the entire county.

Eighty years later, the regional library system is celebrating a remarkable milestone with a year-long journey through our shared story.

Beginning next month, the library is launching Passport to Explore, an invitation to visit each of the nine branches in our beautiful county. Uncover fascinating facts from our history as you dive into the stories that make each location special. In addition to passports, limited-edition library cards, with a unique design for each branch, will be available for you to collect, along with other fun giveaways!
