Take in Some Culture This Weekend: American Idiot at BPA, Crescendo! Choir, and the ongoing Asian Heritage Festival!
Green Day’s American Idiot opened last weekend and will continue its run through May 23. Audiences have reported feeling stunned, charged, and deeply moved. The production is at Bainbridge Performing Arts Center. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. except matinee performances, which start at 3 p.m.
Fueled by the explosive energy of Green Day’s Grammy Award–winning album, American Idiot is a high-octane rock musical that follows three friends as they navigate the disillusionment and confusion of post-9/11 America. With an electrifying score and raw, urgent storytelling, the show captures the voice of a generation searching for meaning in a media-saturated, war-torn world. Visually striking and emotionally charged, this production fuses live music, movement, and multimedia in a unique theatrical experience that will shake you to your core.
Strong language, drug references, and adult themes. Recommended for ages 16 and up.

Check out some of the glowing reviews we’ve received so far from both The Sound on Stage and The Write Influence with Stacey. Some of the comments:
“The only thing I wish they did was sell the music from the performance, because these vocals and musically talented band I enjoyed better than my worn-out CD of the original American Idiot by Green Day themselves. (Please never tell Billie Joe Armstrong).”
“If there was any doubt as to what audience members are about to experience coming into American Idiot, the fact that earplugs are distributed in the lobby quickly makes things clear.”
“By the time the final note faded, there was a shared stillness in the room, the kind that only comes after experiencing something truly moving.”
Though performances continue through May 23, word of mouth has already spread and made tickets for the rest of the run scarce! Here is what remains for this coming weekend:
Friday, May 8… 1 ticket left
Saturday, May 9… 10 tickets left
Sunday, May 10… 12 tickets left
