There are Still Plenty of Exciting Events to Attend at the Months-long Asian Arts & Heritage Festival, including the Finale at Waterfront Park
The month’s long Bainbridge Island Asian Arts & Heritage Festival has hit its half-way point, but there are still plenty of events to enjoy, including the signature Festival Finale on Sunday May 31st at Waterfront Park.
The festival centered on Asian arts, heritage and belonging, and already deemed a smashing success by organizers, even earned a City of Bainbridge Island Proclamation, read by Mayor Clarence Moraki, whose Japanese heritage gave added meaning to the city’s public recognition of the festival.
Said Moraki: “This festival reflects the kind of Bainbridge Island we want to keep building: one that honors heritage, welcomes people in, and celebrates the many stories that shape our community.Upcoming events include a Dance Party Under the Lanterns on Friday May 22 at Sister Cider House, Japanese Heritage Night on May 25th, and the festival’s culminating event at Waterfront Park bringing together performances, food, community booths, cultural learning, and shared celebration in one closing event.
