It’s that time of the month for islanders to discover the vibrant heart of Bainbridge’s creativity at the First Friday Art Walk tonight – January 2nd – in beautiful Downtown Winslow. Immerse yourself in a captivating blend of art, food, and drinks as you meander through charming streets and indulge in a feast for the senses.

Browse a diverse array of galleries, showcasing the works of talented local artists, and be inspired by their masterpieces. Savor delectable culinary delights from our eclectic eateries, accompanied by refreshing drinks that perfectly complement the lively atmosphere. Explore unique shops offering handcrafted treasures and embrace the spirit of community that thrives in this artistic haven.

And at any number of shops, listen to local musicians and singers honing their crafts.

Meet the Library’s January Artist Ingrid Amirault at First Friday Art Walk and Beyond

Begin 2026 with a healthy start, refreshing your viewing palate with the Bainbridge Island Library’s January artist, Ingrid Amirault, who will host an opening reception for her exhibit of “Oil Paintings Coastal Musing” for First Friday Art Walk. Her paintings will be on display in the library meeting room, January 2, 5-7 p.m.

Ingrid’s art feels like a warm embrace from our cherished Pacific Northwest home, says the library’s Art Coordinator Linda Meier. “Her paintings are an invitation to feel the gentle glow of the light, to get lost in the ever changing moods of the water, and to wander through the whispered secrets of a forest or garden. Each brushstroke is a moment of deep connection that she shares with us, allowing us to experience the world not just with our eyes but with our hearts,” Meier’s explains.

You can also view the exhibit during regular library hours through the month of January (unless a meeting happening). A portion of sales is donated to the library.

Planetarium Show Saturday Jan 3rd at Battle Point Observatory

Drop by Battle Point Observatory for an all-ages short Planetarium Show! Learn what’s up in the night sky and get a peek inside the Observatory. Show offered at 12:30 pm (1 show only today).

Open to the community, $10/adult and $5/child tickets (plus tax) available at the door until show is full. $5 ticket discount for BPAA Members, the organization appreciates your support!
