BIMA’s Summer Art Market 2023 returning on July 9th through July 30th!
The Summer Art Market is taking over the plaza outside the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) this summer.
This in-person art market will take place every Sunday, July 9th-July 30th between 11 am – 5pm. Each Sunday will feature different vendors and local musicians. BIMA’s Bistro is open during the Summer Art Market with a rotating menu of artfully created and seasonally inspired Pacific Northwest cuisine.
Explore the booths featuring handmade, locally-crafted treasures on the plaza each Sunday in July. Make a day of it by enjoying lunch at the BIMA Bistro and taking in all the newly opened summer exhibitions as well as live music. The Market is open rain or shine!
Each week will feature a different selection of artists and makers working in a variety of mediums including painting, jewelry, fiber, fused glass, drawing, pastel, metal work, photography, wood arts, fragrances, and more.

In addition to the Summer Art Market, BIMA is proud to present BIMA Spotlight, their first-ever juried group exhibition. Six jurors reviewed approximately 3,400 artworks, submitted by 606 artists from the Puget Sound region. The result is a diverse salon-style show, filling the majority of BIMA’s two gallery floors. BIMA Spotlight is part of BIMA’s 10th Anniversary celebration. The BIMA Spotlight runs from June 30th through September 10th.

Please note that all sales at the Summer Art Market go directly to the independent vendors and are not associated with the Museum Store. Due to this, the BIMA Member Museum Store discount will not apply to any purchases from vendors at the Summer Art Market.
Open late – Beginning June 30, 2023 (through September 2nd) the museum will stay open until 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The effort builds upon BIMA’s success with extended hours on First Fridays. Not only will the galleries be open later, but the BIMA Bistro will be open and serve beer, wine, and snacks while the Museum Store will be open for shopping.
Opened in 2013, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA) is located in downtown Winslow on Bainbridge Island in the heart of the Puget Sound (550 Winslow Way E.). The museum’s mission is to inspire curiosity, wonder, and understanding by connecting people with the contemporary art and craft of the Puget Sound region.
