Part 2 – Come Celebrate 35 years of the Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour

The Bainbridge Island Winter Studio Tour is in full swing today and I had the pleasure of visiting a few of the venues and chatting with some of the artists.

My first stop on the Tour was Ferrier Studio on Lynwood Center Rd. NE, there you’ll find functional and sculptural pottery, beautiful jewelry, silk scarves, collage painting, marbled paper and acrylic on canvas. I had the pleasure of chatting with Ellen Cooke of Tova Lona Jewelry and perusing her selection, which inspired me to assist my husband with his Christmas shopping — unbeknownst to him, he purchased this lovely bracelet for me.
My next stop was the American Legion Hall on Bucklin Hill Road, where you’ll find paintings, photography, woodworking, pottery, hand-woven fibers and block prints. I had a lovely chat with artist, Jani Freimann,
and was quite taken with her sketches, especially the “Cousins Sketch” which I desperately wanted to purchase (but alas, I don’t have any wall space left…). Moving on down the road, I stopped in at the Masonic Lodge on Grow Avenue, where I met up with Deborah Rhee (I did a blog post on Deborah last week – you can read that post by scrolling down). Deborah’s work is incredible and even more vibrant when viewed up close, I’m just in love with these pieces. 
Next door to the Masonic Lodge, is Sylvia Carlton’s Studio, there you’ll find pottery, oils, acrylics, inks, semi-precious jewelry, floral/botanical paintings, eclectic art jewelry, and fused glass. I stopped at Rita Belserene’s table and found the most wonderful penguin ornament. 

Unfortunately, time didn’t allow me to visit all the Tour venues, but don’t let that stop you, every artist’s work is wonderful and you’ll find a variety of fabulous gifts for you and your loved ones.
